Speech No More

No more speech

I’m so proud of my little guy.  When we got his diagnosis and talked to other parents of special needs, I was prepared for him to need therapy, especially speech, throughout his childhood. I thought he’d still be doing speech in high school. Imagine my shock when the speech supervisor said she was going to discharge him!

The speech supervisor had to sit me down and convince me why he didn’t need speech therapy anymore, because I was in disbelief.  I knew he was improving incredibly, especially with his recent language explosion that included him talking about the past, future, and rationalizing.  She said he is age appropriate and it wouldn’t be ethical to continue therapy.

I’m so proud of him, and so hopeful for his future!  This guy is amazing!

I’m also ecstatic to get two more hours a week for ourselves.
