Midnight Tickles

I had such a nice night with my three year old the other night.  We couldn’t sleep.  He had taken a nap that day, and I had my first self-made coffee, and apparently made it strong.  I went to bed even though I was wide awake, and when I saw his silhouette in my doorway, I invited him in.  We had fun tickling, hugging, kissing, massaging, and joking around.  I’m so grateful for the time with him.

My little guy is an affectionate guy, so we get lots of cuddle time in, but it was nice to not be in a hurry to get to the next thing.  He lets me know when he needs some affection, and like his mama, is vocal when he needs a massage :P .  Once I start, he tells me what body part needs to be rubbed next: “Ears, legs, hair…”  He’s so cute!

I would get tired and try to sleep, so I’d close my eyes, then peek to see if he was dosing off, and when he saw my eyes he’d get a big grin on his face.  Oh, how I love his smile.  There is nothing like it!  One of the times we did this, he said, “You got blue eyes like me.”  I couldn’t help but tackle him with hugs and tickles.

I love being with my guy when he’s relaxed, without distractions, and he can tell me whatever he’s thinking about.  He is so incredible.  I don’t know what I’d do without him!
