Learning Work Ethic Through Olympic Biographies

My seven year old is really enjoying swim lessons, to the point of taking it very seriously.  I love watching him work this hard and truly feel good about it.

To encourage his enthusiasm in his hobby, garner some Olympic spirit, and impress him with the results of hard work, I collected information about a few of our U.S. Olympic Team swimmers.  I basically copied and pasted the information from swimswam.com onto a sheet that’s easier for a second-grader-to-be to read.  He’s most interested in who they are and where they come from, rather than their racing statistics, so I left those out for now.  These would be great to use for a writing assignment later.

I look forward to him learning about our Olympic Swim Team, watching some races, and learning the power of work ethic this summer!
