We recently got to take our big boys to their first wedding. To be fair, our baby has already been to his first wedding, so it really was the big boys’ turn.
The boys love hearing about our wedding, and were excited to find out they were going to one. They were happy to dress up for the occasion.
Once in the chapel, they were anxious to see the bride. My three year old kept asking, “Why man not marry lady?” They were very excited when the doors opened, to Michael Buble’s famous line “And I’m feeling good.” They wanted to see every moment of the ceremony and asked questions about everything.
We enjoyed a nice cocktail break in the shade of the courtyard.
The excitement continued as we were seated for lunch, at our own private table in the very back where the boys could be themselves. We were also near our friends.
And the bar.
The bride even made sure we had food the boys can eat. She thought of everything!
I brought lots of stuff for the boys to do.
But what the boys really wanted to do was take pictures.
Three year old selfie:
I’m sure the bride will love these photos of her guests.
And these “detail” shots.
The boys did not hesitate to head out on the dance floor without Mom or Dad. The only trouble was getting them to move once there.
It was a beautiful wedding. You could feel the couple’s love from across the room, and I’m so happy to have been there. I’m even happier my boys got to experience such a wonderful wedding.
